The Figure-of Eight Chain Necklace with Hand-made Glass Medallion is woven in an interesting pattern with varied textures of yellow, black and varigated ribbons. The hand-made medallion is of a clear yellow and orange glass with a sterling silver slide. The necklace measures 18" and lays beautifully at the base of the neck. The figure -of-eight pattern is an elementary Celtic knot made from one continuous line. Each color is interwoven separately and then joined by the cyclical Celtic knots at the ends. The continuous line of this necklace is a symbol of eternity - a positive life-affirming theme in Celtic knot work. To the Irish scribes of the seventh to ninth centuries, the endless line represented the boundlessness of God.
